Gatherings
Fire By Night is actually a network of simple churches (we call them Fire Houses). Fire Houses are smaller communities which meet in different locations and times throughout the week all over the Silver City area and Western New Mexico University. We meet together to practice BEING the church and being disciples in ways that you simply can’t do in large gatherings. Every Fire House is unique, but we all have the same DNA that we outline as follows:
- Dynamic Truth: Teaching one another, through the Word and Spirit, the dynamic truth of scripture and challenging one another to be accountable and obedient to becoming more like Christ.
- Nurturing Relationships: Building strong, dependent relationships with brothers and sisters in Christ through close, personal accountability, prayer, and the many “one another” expressions of community mentioned in the New Testament.
- Apostolic Mission: Encouraging one another to live outwardly (together and as individuals), obeying the commands of Scripture and the prompting of the Spirit, to share the gospel and do good works to advance the kingdom of God.
We also have larger weekend gatherings where all of our Fire Houses come together to fellowship, worship, pray, and receive equipping and impartation from network leaders, This is also a time for visitors to connect to our community or to just come and see what we’re all about. Our weekend gathering takes place on Sundays at 4:00 PM at Barnard Hall on the WNMU campus.
